Biography to follow...
"I first discovered Anne Vos painting in the countryside one beautiful sunny morning near my home in South West France and subsequently, a few days later, saw an exhibition of her works in St Emilion. Anne is a self taught artist who lives and paints on the Atlantic Coast of France. She was born in Arcachon in 1965 and during her artistic career she has passionately progressed from painting large canvases to small "oils on board" inspired by working outdoors.
During the early summer of 2016 Anne successfully completed 100 "pochade" paintings in 100 days and has since sold them all. ”Pochade", as the French word implies, is a small work of art which is painted on impulse to capture the light or essence of the moment.
Anne is inspired by Monet and the vast, open skies of the Post Impressionist painter Edward Seago. Her work, at times, also resembles the coastal scenes of Eugene Boudin. She loves the constant challenge of "plein-air" painting when she is guided by the initial emotional impulses and she endeavours to show the energy of the natural elements in her work.
We love the simplicity and freshness of her paintings and believe they are extremely affordable originals of such good quality."
